CMVC and IHS formed a joint venture to create Parts Aftermarket Databases – tires, motor oil, filters, brakes, diesel engine parts, electrical system, cooling system, steering system, suspension system, wheel end and exhaust system – to solve common management problems with respect to the lack of detailed parts aftermarket sales data required for business planning, marketing strategies, sales opportunities and sales metrics.
The IHS Parts Aftermarket Databases measure parts aftermarket retail sales, units and value (dollars). Database users have the capabilities to create datasets based upon geography, vehicle specs and vehicle ownership characteristics to generate datasets to meet their unique requirements. Parts Aftermarket Databases are available online 24/7, so customers can easily query databases to immediately receive results.
The IHS Parts Aftermarket Databases combine fleet maintenance management analytics with vehicle registrations obtained from each state’s DMV. IHS deciphers each VIN obtained from state DMVs to identify geography of vehicle registration, vehicle characteristics/configurations, vehicle ownership characteristics and vehicle owner. Parts aftermarket factors determined by fleet maintenance management analytics are attached to each vehicle VIN based upon vehicle GVW Class, vocation/application, model year and vehicle specs. Database fields provide users with the capabilities to generate datasets based upon geography, vehicle specs and vehicle ownership characteristics.
Datasets are created in an Excel file, so customers can easily manipulate and integrate datasets with other data.
Databases are available as an annual subscription giving users unlimited 24/7 access or datasets can be generated on an ad hoc basis based upon customers’ request.
